The Grange Village is a Strata Title "lifestyle resort community" for people aged 55 and older.  Its administration is regulated by the Strata Schemes Management Act 1996.  The village was originally developed by Lend Lease but their involvement ceased in 1998 when ownership was transferred to the residents.  Day to day management is carried on by the village manager and the office staff.  The manager and staff are responsible to and employed by Australian Unity who are contracted to manage The Grange for the owners.

It should be noted that The Grange is not a "retirement village" as defined by the Retirement Villages Act 1999.  However, most Grange residents are retired.
